Family is Fantastic!

Here are some random family pictures to go along with my main topic: last summer's family vacation!

Summer of 2013, my little family went on a trip up through Oregon! It was considered my "senior trip" so I got to bring Alex. We had a lot of fun visiting family, seeing the old towns, exploring the beaches, and relaxing at our hotel. Alex and I went to see a few scary movies at these really dingy theaters, World War Z and The Conjuring. My family watched ALL of the Star Wars movies, and got to re-visit some old vacation memories from when we lived in Oregon. We walked "the strip" of Seaside, Oregon where I got a really cute vintage dress from a thrift shop, and I bought Alex a cute pirate rubber ducky for his collection. Britta, Carson and I had fun in the pools and hot tubs. It was fairly cold and windy for summer! :) We saw lots of beautiful wildlife on the beach, and discovered that our parents have been lying to us our whole lives... You see, when we were little, we would find the most beautiful seashells strolling along the coastline. I was disappointed that I wasn't finding ANY when I was combing the beach. My Dad started laughing and told us he used to drop seashells in front of us while we were looking down at the sand! So, all the pretty shells I have in my collection weren't really found by me after all... Let's just say I was expecting more out of our trip than I got! ;) No, it was a very fun trip. It gives me goosebumps just to think about it now. The grey skies, the lush, green forest, the dark and stormy waves... Driving through Astoria was the most eerie thing I've ever done! Such a creepy little town! All the businesses were closed up and the streets were empty and there was this giant green bridge looming over it all. The scariest thing about the bridge, was it was under construction. So here Alex and I are, driving on this HUGE bridge that is long enough you can't see the end, not to mention cloudy enough that you can't see very much around you, and we look down and suddenly we are driving way above the ocean! Don't look down, don't look down I keep telling myself, and so I look up instead, and there are tarps and construction tools everywhere. Needless to say, I don't really want to go back there anytime soon! I wish my family had come with Alex and I to see that one! :) P.S. it's where THE RING was filmed!!!
