Shoveling Snow

The past two weeks we have gotten SO MUCH SNOW out in Eagle Mountain, and it's been quite the task keeping it shoveled so we could safely use the driveways and our walkways to the doors of our homes. (Yes, I said homes. I am lucky enough to have 2 homes at the moment: my parents' house with my little family, and down the street at my boyfriend's house with his mama.)

Most people would probably hate shoveling, but I get a weird sense of accomplishment after moving all that heavy white stuff out of the way. It's cold, quiet work. You're just sort of out there in the blizzard, thinking about both nothing and everything. And it's lovely, peaceful, tranquil, painful, hefty, and tiresome. But I like it anyways.

I read a blog post by one of my favorite people in the planet, Rachael Caringella, that was beautiful, sweet, and exactly how I felt the past few weeks. She had a difficult task ahead of her, that she accomplished herself out of affection for her loved one. I suggest you read it. ^.^ I shoveled a lot of snow for my family and my sweetheart, too. :) (I love feeling close to this woman haha. She is astounding!)

Happy Holidays from Abby & Alex

Alex and I have been driving Audi Allroad Avants together for a while, they are fast, comfortable, safe, and twins! ;) Haha! We had our lovely friend Amber, from Bam Photography, take our pictures for us in our matching 'Ugly Christmas Sweaters' and they turned out so darn cute! (GIVE HER A CALL! She does stunning work and is so fun to take pictures with.)

This Holiday season has been very low-key for the King family, and it has been splendid. I hope everyone who reads this post remembers what the holidays should REALLY be about: love, family, and giving. No, it is not about Christ. Christmas is based off of pagan holidays, and times change. We should all be striving to help other people, to use our time and our talents to better the world for ourselves and others. Focus on what really matters, be kind, don't force your beliefs on others, have empathy, and do what you can do to help people! :)
