Shoveling Snow

The past two weeks we have gotten SO MUCH SNOW out in Eagle Mountain, and it's been quite the task keeping it shoveled so we could safely use the driveways and our walkways to the doors of our homes. (Yes, I said homes. I am lucky enough to have 2 homes at the moment: my parents' house with my little family, and down the street at my boyfriend's house with his mama.)

Most people would probably hate shoveling, but I get a weird sense of accomplishment after moving all that heavy white stuff out of the way. It's cold, quiet work. You're just sort of out there in the blizzard, thinking about both nothing and everything. And it's lovely, peaceful, tranquil, painful, hefty, and tiresome. But I like it anyways.

I read a blog post by one of my favorite people in the planet, Rachael Caringella, that was beautiful, sweet, and exactly how I felt the past few weeks. She had a difficult task ahead of her, that she accomplished herself out of affection for her loved one. I suggest you read it. ^.^ I shoveled a lot of snow for my family and my sweetheart, too. :) (I love feeling close to this woman haha. She is astounding!)

Happy Holidays from Abby & Alex

Alex and I have been driving Audi Allroad Avants together for a while, they are fast, comfortable, safe, and twins! ;) Haha! We had our lovely friend Amber, from Bam Photography, take our pictures for us in our matching 'Ugly Christmas Sweaters' and they turned out so darn cute! (GIVE HER A CALL! She does stunning work and is so fun to take pictures with.)

This Holiday season has been very low-key for the King family, and it has been splendid. I hope everyone who reads this post remembers what the holidays should REALLY be about: love, family, and giving. No, it is not about Christ. Christmas is based off of pagan holidays, and times change. We should all be striving to help other people, to use our time and our talents to better the world for ourselves and others. Focus on what really matters, be kind, don't force your beliefs on others, have empathy, and do what you can do to help people! :)

Happy Thanksgiving ♡

Today my little family and I had a Thanksgiving feast of our own. We were not invited to any get-togethers from my father's side of the family, and those lovely aunts of mine have even managed to cause some drama on my mom's side of the family. *facepalm*

Today I am very thankful for my intelligent parents. They show me how caring they are in all of their interactions with others, especially those who are cruel to them. They use their brain, and don't take shit from anyone. They are considerate, helpful, loving, and inspirational. I love you Mommy and Daddy!

I am also thankful for my hilarious siblings. Not many people are lucky enough to get along with their brothers and sisters, but I am. I would call them two of my best friends. They stand by me, through thick and thin, they make me laugh, and I don't know where I would be without them. I love you Britta and Carson.♡

SHOUT out to my sweetheart, Alex. ♡ We are approaching our 4 year anniversary and I am so thankful I have him in my life.

I am so thankful for all the family and friends who have stood loyal by me. I appreciate you all so much, and send my love. ♡

BE AFRAID.

I was watching Parks and Rec with my mama, and this quote spoke to me on a deep level. My heart goes out to all of us who live in a state where our government and police are often hateful bigots. Be careful where you put your equality bumper sticker... You may just get pulled over by my aunt.

"Teacher Clothes"

...as I call them. :)

I love working as a Special Education Aide. I get to dress up for work and no one questions it! ;) Plus, who doesn't love getting paid to play with kiddos? :) My jobs as an Aide and a Barista are really fulfilling in my life. ^.^ I am lucky to have them, and be able to travel (check out my Hawaii pics below), save money, go to school, pay my bills, and help other people. ♡ Life is good. My best friend, Annika, got married, and Alex and I adopted a new kitten and named her Luna. :)
