I've wanted to chop my hair in a pixie cut for as long as I can remeber :) Though I've tried to grow my hair out long, so I could do cute things with it for school dances and curl it and crimp it and braid it and all sorts of fun things I DID learn to do, I decided it was time for a change. :) And boy am I glad I did it! This pixie cut (based off of Alice Cullen's in Breaking Dawn) suits my personality perfectly! I look mature, spunky, fun, and cute all at the same time! :) I couldn't be happier :) :)

My hair is finally long enough to fit all the way in a bun!! with my bangs not falling out or hair at the back of my neck coming loose!!! :D I am so very proud of myself! It's taken how many years now... I started growing out out for good in 8th grade, when it was cut to my chin. I am now a Jr.... and it barely reaches my shoulders. :P Ah well! Christmas break is so long this year! :D We got out last friday, didn't have school at all this week and have all next week off as well! :)

I'll be posting christmas pictures soon, haha and I have to work on christmas eve... :P I guess people need overpriced donuts then too. At least I get to work with my B.F.F.F.L.A.E., Annika!!! :D (Best Friend Forever For Life And Eternity)

My 1st school dance was so much fun! I had the best, most gentlemanly date ever, and a fun group. We went to Classic Skating for the day date, in which Gavin couldn't skate for the life of him! It was fun teaching him how to roller blade and see how hard he was trying not to be embarrassed. :) Then came time to get ready for the dance, I took FOREVER doing my hair, and I think I made us a little bit late for pictures... ah well! hahah Gavin came to pick me up and we took the 1st picture above of us in my backyard. Then we went to his house for his parents to take pictures, following going to the actual photo shoot with our group. The dinner was delicious, a boy in our group, Hayden, had his parents make us a fancy dinner. I actually liked the main course: bacon wrapped steak (sorry I forgot the fancy name for it!) And we had pumpkin pie, my favorite! After dinner, we went to the actual reason for the whole occasion: the dance! :D Everone was so dressed up, I felt like a princess. Thank you so much for a fabulous night, Gavin! :)

Well guys, it's only my first day in a math class and I'm already dying. I'm just no bueno at math!!! :'( hope I'll get through this year... just feel like I've already outassed everyone in High school, I'm a Junior and have passed all the way up to Pre Calculus. College Prep this year, and who knows what next year?

Anywho, my outfit was cute today. I took a better quality picture on our camera but this computer doesn't have the right programs to upload it yet, so crappy phone pic it is!

Today was the first day of school! I'm now a junior, Britta a freshman, and Carson a 6th Grader. I wore some bloomer-looking capris, a seafoam green ruffle shirt, purple oxford shoes, and some pearl jewelry. I kust got my hair done on saturday by the fabulous uncle of Gavin's, Mitch. :) Britta, Kayla and I are all in the same school this year, and all in choir!! Carson goes to the new elementary, and has been chosen as a Recess helper thingy majiggy! He gets an extra twenty minutes of recess!! what a stud. haha

I'm deciding to try and actually blog more often, I've been so inspired by Annika :) So here it goes!!

For those of you who don't know, I've been following Harry Potter for over a decade now. I still remember going to see Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in theatres for my Best Friend, Kayden's 5th birthday party. Then the second movie came out when I was in second grade, and I became obsessed. I made my own Wand out of a branch while we were living in Minnesota. I had that movie memorized by heart, and was playing Harry potter with all of my friends. :)

We moved back to Utah soon after, and I remember being sent to my uncle Toddy's room for saying something rude. I was up there, and noticed his Harry Potter books. I thought 'Wait!!! Harry Potter has BOOKS TOO?!!?' I was an avid reader even back then. I sat down and started on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, because I had already seen the other two movies (child logic). I soon after read all the way up to the 5th book, where J.K. Rowling had not yet released any others. On the last day of school in 3rd grade, June 4th to be exact, (sad that I still remember that date. just shows how dedicated I am. :) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban arrived in theatres. I remember being so upset that other kids saw it at the midnight showing before I did... haha I remember being SO DISAPPOINTED that the movie release of Harry Potter 3 had had to be pushed back because the first actor to play Dumbledore had passed away. :'(

When I had no new material to read after the the 5th book, I looped back and read the 1st and 2nd. The years progressed and I was so anxious to see the Harry Potter movies, and read the new books. They always came out in theatres for my birthday, and once around Britta's. :)

I still remember arguing with my friend Sara Bigelow's mom after the 6th book came out about what the seventh horcrux would be. I always thought it would be Harry Potter HIMSELF, and she thought I was full of Bologna. :) Who would guess that I proved her wrong? :)

I have so many great memories with Harry Potter, and it will be a bittersweet thing to see the last movie, Deathly Hallows part 2. I'm a junior now, so it's been ten years since the first one arrived. The release date is July 15th, and I am uber ecstatic!!! The ending of the books was hard on me, and I hope they pull off this last movie as the best one yet.

On another note, Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn part 1 will be coming out soon as well!! I still remember going to Barnes and Noble, and asking the lady there for a new great book for my to read. I was in 6th grade then, so still pretty young and waiting for J.K. Rowling to release another Harry Potter. The worker brought me to the teenage book section (back then Twilight wasn't in a HUGE stack of other red, black and white books.) where Twilight was sitting there all alone, secluded in an out of easy eyesight bookshelf. I smiled and said thanks, then began reading the back cover: "About three things I was absolutely positive. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him- and I didn't know how dominant that part might be- that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and Irrevocably in love with him."

I was hooked right then and there. Edward is such a romantic name! Vampires are soooo cool... And it was from a GIRL'S PERSPECTIVE!!! I had been trying to find a good thick book series with that last condition for quite sometime! (Hunger Games wasn't around back then.)

I began reading, and fell in absolute love with Edward Mason Cullen. He was perfect!!! Who could not love him??? Yet, no one seemed to know what this strange book with the person holding an apple on front was... I was asked so many times, "Whatcha readin' Abby? It looks weird." to which i would reply about how awesome it is and they'd all just say "ohh... Well that sounds cool Abby." in a voice that made me believe they did NOT think it sounded very cool.

Now I just think what a bunch of hypocrites! haha Twilight saga is so very popular now.

After I finished reading New Moon -my lease favorite book of the series. I'm not a huge fan of Jacob, and I bawled my eyes out when Edward left. In fact, I usually just read up until Edward is leaving, then skip to where Alice comes to Bella's house. :) -I couldn't get to a book store fast enough to read Eclipse!!! Then, when I FINALLY got it, I was forced to go to stupid Girl's camp!!! As if you could call it that, it was more like rough camp, sleeping on the dirt floor for three days. Mom wouldn't let me bring Eclipse, because by then she was addicted to Twilight too, and she wanted to read the book as well. I was stranded for three days, my mind stuck back at home halfway through the book!!! Ugh it was THE WORST!!! (not to mention I already hate camping! and this wasn't even bunk beds in cabins stuff, it was rainy Utah weather in tents!)

When Breaking Dawn came out, the same story occurred. Mom read it while I was at Girls camp, and though it was in bunks this time, it was also two days longer. 5 days, waiting to go home, in misery. Ugh Girl's camp is the WORST, the only thing that made it OK was my BFFs Ali, Annika and Sara were all there this time. When I finally got home, my mom was done and she said it might be "a little too adult" for me... I remember crying thinking she wouldn't let me read it!!! But in the end, she did anyways. :)

After all these books, the movies began spilling out. Although the 1st one wasn't the best, they've progressed in each one ever since. Breaking Dawn will be out soon, and I can't be more anxious to see it!!! (November 18th, day before my birthday. I haven't done anything for my birthday the past five years except seeing either Harry Potter or Twilight movies)

It's been a long journey, and it'll be hard watching the movie because the whole time I'll be wondering, "where are they gunna cut it off for the next one?!" just like I was in Harry Potter on my last birthday. Well, hope you all enjoyed my little ranting about my two favorite book series. :) Have a great one, guys :)

Hello everyone! And welcome back! As you can see, I've changed the title to my family's blog. The website is still the same abbyishness, cuz I couldn't change that.

Lots of things have been changing in the technologic world of the King household, we got rid of our cable and got Netflix instead. I have to admit, I wasn't looking forward to losing my Disney Channel (the final Hannah Montana Forever season was going on at the time) but now I see that Netflix has practically everything. But let's not let me go off as free advertisement for Netflix. :)

We also got two Blue Ray players, which are NICE! Yet to have a movie on Blue Ray yet, but we have used it for DVDs and netflix.

But the absolute best thing that has changed technologically, is our FAST INTERNET! I can easily multi function through multiple pages of quicj internet. Uploading photos is a breeze, watching Youtube and we don't have to wait for the stupid red bar to load. and NO BUFFERING! :D Along with this, I WILL be posting heck of a lot more often on here, with pictures :)

But on a different note, the past few months have been busy, busy busy. My family went up to Yellowstone National Park in October, it was FREEZING cold. Blizzard like weather, but we had fun all the same. Halloween came and went, this is the first year I didn't go trick or treating. sad day. I'm getting old.

In November, I turned 16. I got my driver's License but heh... I'm not the most confident driver outside of Eagle Mountain. For my party, I took some family and friends to see Harry Potter 6 in theatres, and had a party the evening afterwards. Needless to say, my house was very cramped that night! I had like 25 friends here.

We are getting ready for Christmas 2010, and it's been a blast. So excited for family time, and present giving and recieving :) Here's some pics of the past few months:

Summer, and the Begining of School

heya! well The King's have been very busy this summer and beginning of school year. Summer was long and fun. The beginning of school was good for us to have something to do, but now that we are back in and teh weather is getting worse, I'm sad that summer is gone.

I tried to upload some great pictures, and tehrefore put stories with the pics, but My computer is so slow... ugh

Long Time, No Posts!

Hey! Sorry It's been forever; we have all been very busy. Not to mention we actually have a camera now, and I have finally learned how to work it (sorta) at least to the point where I can put the pictures onto the computer :D

So... where to begin? We went to California for ten days over Spring break. We loved playing in the ocean and collecting seashells, though we wish the weather wouldn't have been so windy. We spent two nights in Las Vegas on our way To and From California; our condos are such a blessing to have! We stayed in a few different condos, enjoying the different scenery in each. Sea World was loads of fun: A zoo AND amusement park in one! We especially liked the Flamingos and Manta Rays. We could pet them!!! Now we all want a pet Manta Ray... haha

Disneyland and California Adventures were a joy also, well the parts where we were riding the rides or eating food! The lines were a different story... (A big round of applaus to Lagoon! Their lines are NEVER three hour long waits! I sure am grateful for that now haha) There was also a new mall-type area called The Garden Walk. I love malls, and pretty plants. So the Garden Walk was very enjoyable for me especially. Look it up, if you want to! ;)

though we were a little bit sad to come back to school after ten long days of freedom, we were glad to be home. Us three kids finished out the school year with good grades. We all miss seeing our friends 5 days a week, but we are LOVING this hot, summer weather. (And no homework!)

School got out in May, and we enjoyed our first few weeks of summer at Lagoon, where we bought season passes. We also prepared for our piano recital, which took place on the 12th of June. We forgot the camera, so no pictures there.

Since then, we have been sun tanning, running through sprinklers, helping our cousins move into their new house, and just relaxing. :) Not to mention My mom, Brother, Sister and I's addiction to watching the TV show Angel.

Whoa long time no see! Lots has happened in the last month.

Mom- she made lots of cookies to give out for valentines day. She also whipped up a whole bunch of candy for the CHD Awareness Fundraiser. Lots of it was eaten, but there was still plenty of leftovers! I think we'll have our gallon size bag of caremels for another few months, not to mention all the fudge!

Dad- has started working more regular hours. He no longer works over-night shifts, which is a big relief on the whole family. We always worried about him on his drives back home in the morning, lots of the timehe would have to pull over and take a nap so as to not fall asleep at the wheel. Mom likes having him home during the nights too and now he's able to see us kids off to school in the morning.

Me- School school school. With all my honors and AP classes it's all I really get to do at this time. For Valentine's day my mom got the kids a new outfit. I picked out a bright summer dress. It's my latest obsession, well not so much the dress, but the warmth I'm hoping to feel so that I can actually WEAR the dress without freezing to death. I'm done with winter, and ready for some sunshine!!! Can I have some bikini weather please?!? :)

Oh and along with school, I have been on the track team for two months now. I had my first meet a few weeks ago. I was coming in first place, until my shoelace came untied and I tripped... haha what a very Abby-ish thing to do! So I ended up coming in 4th place. But I'm cool with that! I'll de better next time! This is Eric and I posing at our meet!

I also took up coming to Early Morning Seminary. It's hard to be awake so early, but I'm doing it anyway. I arrive at school at 6:20 and usually get home at 3:45 every weekday, 10 hours and 25 minutes at school = WAY TOO MUCH!!!

Britta- had a little run in at the ER last sunday. She choked and got some food stuck down her esophagus. She was all ready for surgery to remove it (IV in her arm and everything) when last minute she coughs it up! It was gross but overall she was glad to not have to go through with surgery.
Also, Britta has had two ever returning in grown toenails. Today she had surgery on both of her big toes as to stop these from returning yet again. It's a 90% possibility that they won't come back.

Carson- turned 10 on February 21st. He just had small family parties. We think his favorite gift was some yarn and a "Learn-To-Knit" kit from my Nana & Papa. In school, he previously learned how to "finger knit" from his teacher. He is very happy to be able to make hats and socks now.

Well today us kids have been watching all of our Barbie movies. I gotta say, I LOVE those movies!!! Along with High School Musical also. I just love little kid movies, I wish when I was younger these movies had been out! Oh well, I can enjoy them now! :)

Well we had a great Holiday Break. Christmas Eve came, and my Daddy had to work a night shift. So we woke up early, and instead of openingup OUR presents, we drove up to my Nana's and Papa's to watch them, Nichole, Garrett, Kolten, and Toddy open theirs. When my dad came home aroun 8:15 we returned to our house and opened our presents. From Santa, I got the purple 8 gb iPod nano (with video and FM Radio!) that I've been eyeing ever since my old iPod got stolen. Santa gave Britta a professional snowboard, with boots and all. Carson got a BMX bike so he can play on all the jumps he's made since we've mobed here. My Dad got some lamps from Santa. I don't really know why he asked for lamps, but whatever floats his boat. My mom got lots of fun new clothes, including skinny jeans!!! Yay for my mom!

We went to both side of the familys for Christmas Lunch and Dinner. Yummy food and time to play in the snow. (Though I didn't do much of that... bleh)

The Hackings came sledding with us at the Amphitheatre on Saturday, the day after Christmas. :)

We also went out to see Alvin and The Chipmonks. That was a way cute movie, with lots of good music. We all have our favorite chipmonks, I love the nerdy one (Simon). Brit loves the Fat one (Theodore) And Carsey loves Alvin.

The rest of my family went to my Aunt Liz's to celebrate the New Year, while I hung out at Darren's house and watched movies with his family. At nighttime Dare and I went to our Friend Julie's house to play games until midnight. We were supposed to eat breakfast at like one in the morning, but I fell asleep. haha.

Umm we had to go back to school on Monday, and I have to admit it was hard to wake up so early again!!! It was the last week of term though, so we will have new classes when we go back on Monday.

Yesterday our little family went to see AVATAR. Originally we thought it looked really dumb, because us kids thought it was Avatar The Last Airbender that was coming out so soon, but really that movie doesn't come out til summertime. Bummer. But anyways, the AVATAR movie was surprisingly really good! :) We all enjoyed it, and if you havn't seen it yet we definitely recomend you seeing it. Also our Van wouldn't start when we exited the movie theatre, even after asking someone to jump start it. SO we had to call Tripple AAA and get it towed back to our house. Man, I am thankful for Tripple A! We have used them multiple times!

Gingerbread Cookies for our Tree

After School on Friday, my family made gingerbread dough for cookies on our tree! It's always a very long process, but we have a great time every year. Something we did a little differently is inviting over Mark and Daphne Miller, and their new baby girl, Italia. Daphne was Carson's teacher in 1st grade, and her and my mom have been friends ever since. She and her husband got married in our old backyard.

Well they arrived around 6:00 and we ate Apple-Pecan Salad, and my Dad's ORIGINAL homemade chicken and cheese tortolini soup. Then me made some frosting and began to decorate the cookies. We always get creative, what with giving the gingerbread girls bikinis or stabbing a boy with a "daggar". You'd have to see the actual tree to get the full impact, but they are pretty adorable despite their uniqueness. (More like KING FAMILY-NESS!) :D

Thanksgiving (GO UTES!!!)

On Wednesday, my small family of five went out to eat at a nice restaurant with a weird name. Sorry, I can't remember what it was called... haha But then we went to see A Christmas Carol in 3D. It was a weird movie.. good, funny, and a bit creepy! We shopped for a bit also, yay Bath and Bodyworks!!!

Thanksgiving was a bunch of fun! Turkey, Pie, Homemade Candy, Stuffing, Green Bean Casserole, Cranberry Sauce... etc. My Mom did a great job with the Bingo games for the kids, along with prizes and everything! (Yay 2 dollar bills!!) A big thanks to Jeremy and Leisa for hosting us all at the Feast! We know it's a LOT of work!!! Maura made delicious home made bread, and the annual cheese ball, yum!

Thank goodness for the good weather, it made playing outside a lot more fun!

My 15th Birthday Party!!!

We bought tickets to go see New Moon on the big screen after school. I think everyone liked it, especially Annika, who thought seeing Taylor Lautner take his shirt off was the best part of the entire movie! (I gotta admit though, that WAS INSANELY AWESOME!!! :) New Moon was much better than Twilight was, I loved every minute of it! There was only ONE cheesy part in this one!

After the movie, we all came back to my house. We picked up Pizza on our way back, had Pumpkin Pie (because I don't like cake) and ice cream. I got some awesome gifts, thank you everyone! Then we played Air Hockey, DDR, Pool, Board Games, the Lemon Juice game, night games etc. Everyone seemed pretty tired towards the end! Or at least, I was!!!

Can I just say, I miss my old house! My new house is wonderful of course, but there is something about a big red barn, swingset, treehouse, over 40 trees, wide open grassy lawns, and PET CHICKENS!!! Chickens are my absolute FAVORITE animals! They are quite entertaining, and make th emost interesting sounds! Not to mention they laid eggs for us too!

At our King Family Sunday Dinner, we celebrated my birthday and my Grandma made me a cake and a yummilicious dinner! I love Orange chicken and rice! Wow I'm using lots of exclamation points... haha Now I just can't wait to see NEW MOON!!!!

I love how all my Reichert Cousins hug me, offer me candy (candy they bought with their OWN money, from Cummings Chocolate Studio, I might add!) and scream they miss me ever since I moved! :)

Hair Hayday

So on Sunday we had our Smith Family Sunday Dinner. We celebrated Maura's, Garrett's and I's birthdays. (Thank you everyone!!! :) My yearbook was left downstairs on the couch, and all the adults had fun looking at the RIDICULOUS hairstyles teenagers have nowadays. From that, I decided to take pictures of the backs of everyone's heads. Only the following complied:

Auntie Nichole made delicious homemade Enchiladas. Auntie Leisa bought a yummy taco salad (wasn't really a taco salad, so much as normal lettuce with a ranch dressing/taco sauce mixture on top).

We all had nice Halloweens. I went over to Kayla's for a sleepover. We managed to Convince Darren's mom to let him Trick-Or-Treat with us. When we were done with that we went back to Kayla's house and had some Caramel Apples. I don't really know what the rest of my family did, all they said was they went trick or treating. So, haha I guess my night was more fun then theirs! Oh! And Kays and I watch The Village, it wasn't very scary. I love Scary movies, but I'm getting so used to them that now I don't get scared anymore.

Tonight we all went up to Nana's and Papa's to enjoy some S'mores and Hot Dogs over the new fire pit Papa made. I even ate a hot dog, and I don't usually like meat so I was proud of myself! :)

Smith Family Halloween Party

We all had a blast getting together in our costumes. We ate Chicken Noodle Soup or Brocolli Cheese soup in our Pumpkin (shaped) Bread Bowls. Aunt Leisa brought Yummy salad. We bought enough balloons for everyone in the family to write a note to baby Bridger and send them up to him in heaven. We ecorated the many cookies and had a bunch left over!

So, remember the balloons? Well, somehow my mom cut the strings and they all flew up to our high cieling in our front room. We all worked together, grabbing fans to blow the balloons toward the balcony and making a long stick with a broom on the end to retrieve the ballons. It was a funny team-builiding experience.

It's that time of year again, TIME TO MAKE HALLOWEEN SUGAR COOKIES! :)

Every year for family sunday dinner we get together and decorate cookies with homemade frosting, candies and sprinkles! Not to meantion dressing up in our Halloween Costumes! My Daddy makes his homemade chicken noodle soup to be put in the pumpkin shaped (and colored) sourdough bread rolls, and everyone eats the cookies.

PACKED WEEK!

Ok, here's a long post about the last week's happenings. On monday, I had my 50's themed Choir Concert. I got to dress up and dance around having a blast with all my choir buds! On Tuesday evening my Mom's side of the family all went to The Red Barn, a fun little barn with a pumpkin patch and delic' Ice Cream, to get out the word of Congenital Heart Defects to other families with heart problems. We do this in honor of our baby cousin Bridger, who passes away in August. We love you Danny, Staci, and Bridger! The Van was giving us some problems, changing gears at random intervals. After school on Wednesday our small little family left to Wolf Creek, Utah, in our tiny Ford Focus, because the Van was still in the shop. On our way throught the Canyon we ate at a little Cafe with a lovely view of a river and the fall colors. We had a wonderful few days away from the world, enjoying each other's company. Raquet Ball, Tennis, Hot Tubs, Movies (Iron Man, and The Proposal were excellent!), Fall Leaves, all together very nice. On our way home earlier today we stopped off at the Gateway to see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (WONDERFUL MOVIE by the way!) then we also finished the day by going to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point.

Sunday Dinner

Can I just say I LOVE when the whole family comes over for Sunday Dinner?!? We all have such a jolly good time laughing it up and making fun of each other! :) Today we celebrated Auntie Leisa's Birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And played on our Air Hockey/Pool table in the "hangout spot" (as my Daddy calls it, really it's just the basement filled with old furniture and christmas lights!) It's funny to see all the cars in front of our house, couldn't even get all the cars in the picture!

Re-doing the Garage Stairs

Then when I got bored of trying to help when I couldn't really do anything besides get the adult workers more water, I went over to Ali's! :) We watched her home videos with us two in them, and the funniest thing: when we were 11 Ali had a High School Musical Birthday party and we were so small with chubby cheeks! We were quite nerdy! And when that was over we went on a "memory" walk around our old neighborhood and we saw this wicked car with GREEN WINDOWS! Well I've been thinking about making a blog about all the wacky and crazy stuff I do in this unpredictable life, with my family and friends of course! :) So, here it goes!
